- All core activities of the CDN are managed in a main Data Center. It is the heart of our network: it hosts the HW/SW systems through which we receive the content to be distributed (ingestion), we integrate third-party systems (encoding platforms, web portals for publishing content, origin servers, apps for terminal devices), we configure and control the CDN network and live or on-demand streaming services (VoD) to guarantee a high-quality service.
- Along the network, we have our Edge Data Centers, peripheral sites connected to the main Data Center via IP networks and proprietary fibre optics. These sites host the cache servers, which distribute the content regionally, bringing it as close as possible to the end-users in order to improve the streaming speed and quality.
- The interconnection with ISP (Internet Service Provider) networks via peering or Internet transit links enables the delivery of content to end-users on the operators’ networks, while the use of Firewall/Security Gateway, AAA, Log/Siem systems and the monitoring of the SOC, our Security Operations Center, ensure that the CDN is secured against cyber threats.
